Luke Littler produced yet another extraordinary performance to claim his third Premier League nightly victory, defeating Michael van Gerwen in the final at Night 8 in Berlin with two stunning 170 checkouts.

The 18-year-old two-time world champion moved to the top of the Premier League table at the halfway stage of the regular season, with his form showing no signs of slowing down.

Littler reached the final after beating Stephen Bunting 6-3 in the quarter-finals and Gerwyn Price 6-4 in the semis. He then produced the performance of the night against van Gerwen, including a match-clinching 170 finish — the maximum checkout in darts.

Van Gerwen had earlier beaten Luke Humphries 6-3 in his semi-final, continuing his strong recent run. The Dutchman remains in contention for the play-offs.

Current Premier League standings after Night 8 show Littler now leads the table, with the top four after Night 16 in Sheffield progressing to the play-offs at the O2 Arena in London on May 28. The winner takes home a record £350,000 first prize.

Night 9 takes place in Manchester on April 2, live on Sky Sports.
